  8. GEMImageDT is a DataType for GEM image files, as used by GEM Paint and
  9. several other packages. These are also known as IMG files, after the
  10. file-name suffix usually used.

  12. Supported format variations:
  13.  
  14.   - Atari ST images up to 256 colours.
  15.   - Two-colour black and white images.
  16.   - 16-colour PC images.
  17.   - Greyscale PC images.
  18.  
  19. Unsupported format variations:
  20.  
  21.   - 16- and 24-bit images.
  22.  
  23. Some subformats are untested because of the difficulty of getting sample
  24. images. If you have any GEM images that don't work with this DataType,
  25. please contact me.
